Just a few hours away from major Ontario cities, Georgian Bluffs is a collection of communities stretching north from Chatsworth to just south of Wiarton. We are an amalgamated Township consisting of the former Townships of Keppel, Sarawak and Derby with a population of 10,500.
We have an international airport, sports facilities, and a wide array of recreation opportunities, businesses and artisans.
The Niagara Escarpment winds through the Township affording scenic vistas, hiking on the Bruce Trail and hours of enjoyment for the naturalist, photographer or simply for scenic driving. Self-guided Waterfall Tours, Rural Garden Tours, Artisan Studio Tours and Scenic Tours are offered. Hikers, bicyclist, and horseback riders can also enjoy the Georgian Bluffs Trail from Owen Sound to Park Head and on into Bruce County.
We have eight inland lakes and miles of shoreline on Georgian Bay. Many of these lakes have public access and are great for fishing, canoeing or kayaking and many other water activities. This is also a well known area for scuba diving.
Georgian Bluffs supports economic development opportunities that create long term prosperity in agriculture, small and medium sized business keeping in mind available infrastructure, natural heritage features, and regional interests.
